MediaSurfer


MediaSurfer is a very simple plugin. I dare say it's almost just a toy but some folks might find it useful. It's still in early stages but if you are brave enough to try it you might enjoy it.

I was playing with SandVox and one of the things I liked was the slick iLife media browser. Turns out that it's open source by a couple of fine folks so what's a plugin developer to do?

MediaSurfer adds the the iLife media browser to RapidWeaver. To use simply press Command-4 or use the menu item inserted into "Window->MediaSurfer" Once the browswer is up you can simply drag & drop.

You don't even need to add the plugin to your site to get this to happen, just installing it is enough to add this functionality.

You will notice the first time you bring the browser up it can be slow (especially if you have a lot of photos/movies/etc.) Once it has finished loading it's pretty snappy (you can close it and re-open it without reloading)

To remove it delete the MediaMonkey plugin from your ~/Library/Application Support/RapidWeaver directory
